Dinner in Amsterdam

Train route from Groningen to Amsterdam I needed change train once, for that I checked details about the changing the train (which track, train number etc.) I needed to find. But when the time of the change was at hand, I jumped off the train and stood on a platform feeling uncertain. I didn’t see the train on the platform screen where it supposed to be, there was just a name of some other final destination. I walked off the platform and up the platform again after checking which details, I wrote to my notebook, were matching. Then I check the screen again and there it  as, final destination was something else but then it said on smaller letters “Via Amsterdam Central.” I confess that I was a bit rusty on train travelling in Europe :D

Successfully found my way in Amsterdam and there I had around three hours to spend some time before meeting my friend. So what else I’m going to do than put my backpack on and take a walk? –nothing. Firstly walking down main shopping street, then around red light district and then other side of the station. Dam-Square was still full of birds, girls were still standing behind the windows, boats were carrying tourists along canals and the smell of weed coming out from coffee shops as youngster from UK & US were spending there holidays (so easy to recognize :P). So nothing really has changed and finally I just walked around sat down, took my book enjoying my time.

After my city “patrolling” tour around it was time to meet a friend, Annick and go for a dinner. Originally I was dreaming on “all you can eat ribs” deals but after all there was so many opportunities to choose place from, we decided to try out a Turkish restaurant. It was really brightful experience, lot of meet and good sauces with bread and of course Turkish tea in small funny glasses. It has been few years since I saw her and her friend Elianne (unfortunately Elianne couldn’t join us at this time) last time so it was really nice meet up again, we had lot of things to catch up. A lot we talked but still much left undiscovered but it can be used as good excuse to meet eachother again somewhere. Tanks for offering place to crash, wish you all the best.
